SEOUL, President Yoon Suk Yeol made a surprise weekend visit to a children's park near the presidential office building, and met children and their families Saturday, his office said. Yoon talked with families and took photos with them as he visited a fountain garden and a baseball park at Yongsan Children's Garden, according to the presidential office. During his visit to the baseball park, Yoon was quoted as telling the parents of junior baseball players that the sport is helpful for nurturing leadership skills. In response, the parents thanked Yoon for opening the baseball park to children. After attending a match between the elementary school athletes, Yoon took a group photo with the baseball players and encouraged them to visit the baseball park more often, emphasizing that it belongs to them, the presidential office said. Yongsan Children's Garden opened in May last year on a 300,000-square-meter plot of land previously used as a base by U.S. forces stationed in South Korea. Source: Yonhap News Agency
