Second Vice Industry Minister Choe Nam-ho attended a meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) ministers on energy, officials said Friday. Choe participated in the APEC Energy Ministerial Meeting held in Lima from Thursday to Friday (Peru time), aimed at promoting clean energy transitions and regional connectivity, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. During the meeting, participants agreed that the transition to clean energy plays a key role in pursuing inclusive and sustainable development and committed to exploring ways to promote cooperation among countries, considering their different circumstances, the ministry said. On the sidelines of the meeting, Choe held bilateral meetings with officials from the U.S., Canada, Australia, Chile and Indonesia to share ideas on coordinating the use of carbon-free energy sources, the ministry added.
