KUALA LUMPUR, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has achieved a 100 per cent graduate employability (GE) rate for the year 2023, the highest at the national level. This achievement is based on the Graduate Tracer Study (SKPG) conducted by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) on all graduates of public universities each year, according to data announced by the ministry on April 30. 'UTM has consistently ranked first among public universities in Malaysia for the Premium Income Graduates (First Degree) category, with 18.5 per cent earning a premium income of over RM4,000 per month. 'Even more impressive is that 85.4 per cent of UTM graduates have been assessed as having a High Skill Level, the highest in Malaysia,' according to a media statement released by UTM today. The statement also highlighted UTM's strong commitment to producing graduates with high competency and employability. Commenting on this achievement, UTM attributes it to the strategic and collaborative partnership between the university, the private and public sectors, alumni, as well as institutions both domestically and internationally, as key factors in enhancing their graduates' employability. This accomplishment also reflects the university's continuous efforts through the UTM enVision 2025 Strategic Plan to improve graduate success through initiatives aimed at quality teaching and learning. 'Moving forward, UTM will continue to empower its graduates and produce individuals who not only possess high competency values and meet job market demands but also emphasise the cultivation of graduates with ethical values, manners, identity and the ability to create job opportunities,' the statement read.
