As of May 3, ten political parties have registered their parties and lists of candidates for the seventh national election in July.
The update was shared by H.E. Som Sorida, spokesperson at the National Election Committee (NEC), adding that his committee has endorsed seven of the registered parties.
The seven parties endorsed by NEC are Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Cambodian Youth Party, Khmer National United Party, Dharmacracy Party, Democracy Power Party, Cambodian Nationality’s Party, and Khmer United Party.
He continued that NEC is reviewing the registered information by the remaining three political parties.
The parties are Khmer Conservative Party, FUNCINPEC, and Beehive Social Democratic Party.
The 15-day registration of political parties and list of candidates for incoming national election started from April 24 to May 8.
