Once constructed, the Samdech Preah Brahma Rattanamony Pin Sem Museum will not only serve as a historical and cultural centre but also as a site that attracts more tourists to Siem Reap province. Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet highlighted the insight when he and his spouse were presiding over the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the museum in Siem Reap's Raja Bo pagoda on July 18. It will contribute to the government's ongoing efforts to foster tourism in the cultural province of Cambodia, he added. The Royal Government plans to preserve national cultural and historical treasures and tokens, including the remains of tragedies from the wars in the country. While serving as a centre to remind everyone of the priceless role of culture and peace in shaping today's and future development, the museum will provide a meaningful option for tourists visiting the province with new measures introduced by the government. Proposed by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, those measures inc lude the rollout of e-arrival, more direct flights from other countries to Siem Reap, lower transportation fees from and to the airport, and more competitive aeroplane parking fees. According to the government's record, during the first half of 2024, Siem Reap International Airport welcomed some 310,000 travellers, an increase of 36 percent year on year.
