Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King, held talks here at the 7 January Palace this morning with Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. UENO Atsushi. In the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said when he becomes President of the Senate, he will continue to strengthen and expand the relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Japan, especially between the legislative bodies for the benefit of the two nations and peoples. Taking this opportunity, the former Cambodian Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude to H.E. Ambassador of Japan for his good coordination and preparation for him when he visited Japan in early 2024. Samdech Techo Hun Sen also thanked the Japanese side for arranging his meeting with his Japanese friends, especially Prime Minister of Japan H.E. Fumio Kishida for receiving him even though he did not hold the post of Prime Minister anymore. For his part, H.E. UENO Atsushi extended his sincere congratulations to Samdech T echo Hun Sen who will become President of the Senate tomorrow, and hoped that the relationship between Japan and Cambodia would be further strengthened in the framework of parliament, government and people.
