A South Korean national has been indicted in an alleged bid-rigging conspiracy and scheme to defraud the United States in connection with operation and maintenance work for U.S. military installations in Korea, the Justice Department said Wednesday. In a press release, the department announced the indictment charging the person, surnamed Jo, and Jo's company that performed subcontract work on the U.S. installations. It said that beginning at least as early as November 2018, Jo and the company, along with others, conspired to rig bids and fix prices for subcontract work, and defrauded the U.S. Department of Defense to obtain millions of dollars in repair and maintenance subcontract work. Two other people in the case were previously indicted on similar charges in March 2022, it said. Source: Yonhap News Agency
