SEOUL, South Korea and the European Union (EU) have agreed to conduct joint research projects on advanced semiconductor and next-generation communications network technologies in the next three years, Seoul's science ministry said Wednesday. Under the agreement, South Korea and the EU will jointly invest 12 million euros (US$12.98 million) on neuromorphic computing and heterogeneous integration of semiconductors by 2027. The two sides will also funnel 5 million euros into the fifth and sixth generation network technologies. They also plan to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, quantum technology and cybersecurity. Source: Yonhap News Agency
