Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet said the Royal Government is committed to guaranteeing the press freedom as stated clearly in the Constitution and existing laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Addressing a get-together and a solidarity dinner with some 5,000 media practitioners here this afternoon on the occasion of the 31 anniversary of the World Press Freedom Day (May 3), Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said Cambodia's press freedom space is growing and moving towards maintaining good order, while the freedom of expression remains favourable. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet encouraged the journalists to continue to report freely based on professional ethics. 'The result of the new survey with 341 respondents conducted by the Ministry of Information found out that 79,8 percent of the respondents rated the press freedom in Cambodia ,very good',' he underlined. Cambodia has some 2,000 traditional and modern media outlets, with about 10,000 journalists, excluding many content creators on social med ia. Source: Agence Kampuchea Presse
