Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has congratulated Cambodian Badminton team on wining 14 medals at the Badminton Asia Southeast Asia Regional Junior Championships 2024 in the Lao People's Republic Democratic. "Congratulations to the Cambodian Badminton team who won 14 medals - 4 silver and 10 bronze,' he wrote on his social media networks on May 26. According to H.E. Cheam Sophea, Secretary General of the Cambodia Badminton Federation, of the 14 medals, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals were grabbed by U17 team; and 1 silver and 5 bronze by U15 team. The other 1 silver and 1 bronze medals were obtained by U15 and U17 teams in the Mixed Team Event, continued the secretary general. This achievement is a positive sign for Cambodia's Badminton sector resources development, he said, adding that the tournament is a good opportunity for Cambodian young athletes to sharpen their capacity for the better future in their Badminton career. Taking place from May 22 to 26, the Badminton Asia Southeast Asia Regional Junior Championships 2024 attracted the participation of athletes from host Lao PDR, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Brunei, and Myanmar.
