KOTA BHARU, The Barisan Nasional (BN) machinery is prepared to implement changes in Nenggiri if voters place their trust in the coalition in the Aug 17 by-election. UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah emphasised that voters in the area need to have confidence in the Unity Government, represented by UMNO, to effectively serve the community, particularly in terms of development. 'My hope is that they will support and vote for the party under BN on Aug 17,' he said during a press briefing. On June 19, Kelantan State Assembly Speaker Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah announced that the Nenggiri state constituency seat had become vacant following the expulsion of Mohd Azizi Abu Naim from Bersatu on June 13. The Election Commission (EC) has set Aug 17 as the polling day for the Nenggiri by-election, with nominations set for Aug 3 and early voting on Aug 13. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
