Cambodia is expected to experience more rains across the country this week, from Aug. 26 to 28, the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) said in its new weather forecast released this morning. According to the same source, during the said period, rains, accompanied by thunder, lightning and gusts would cover 45 percent of the area in the central lowland areas, 35 percent in the mountainous areas, and 20 percent in the coastal regions. As for the temperature, it would vary between 23 to 34 degrees Celsius in the central lowland areas, 23 to 35 degrees Celsius for the mountainous regions and 23 to 33 degrees Celsius in the coastal areas. MOWRAM explained the weather situation in Cambodia early this week by the effects of the 10th typhoon, Shanshan, on the southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea and the presence of a low pressure over the Gulf of Thailand, the central Mekong basin, the South China Sea and Cambodia.
