Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) has been strengthening the capacity of its officials on water supply sector through a Leadership Training. The training was officially opened by H.E. HEM Vanndy, Minister of MISTI at the Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA) on Sept. 4. This two-day training is part of the ministry's strategic efforts to strengthen the strategic role of the state in achieving Cambodia's Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of universal and equitable access to safe drinking water by 2030, said MISTI. The ministry has been supporting water supply authorities by providing subsidies and pursuing grants and concessional financing for water supply infrastructure development, it added. According to the source, this Leadership Training follows a previous programme on water loss management held in July, aiming to enhance the capacity of general directors of public utilities, director of provincial departments from across the country and people in leadership posi tion in the water supply sector to effectively manage their operations and lead their teams.
