Cambodian Women for Peace and Development Association (CWPD) at the Ministry of Information (CWPD-Ministry of Information) organised here this afternoon a Mental Health Education Workshop to contribute to mental peace for work-life balance for the ministry's female officials. The workshop was presided over by H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information, and his spouse Lok Chumteav Tuy Serey Ratanak, Honorary President of CWPD-Ministry of Information, with Venerable Dr. Kou Sopheap, a prominent Buddhist monk in Cambodia, as a guest speaker. In his opening remarks, H.E. Neth Pheaktra underscored the significance of the workshop as mental issue, which he considered as a silent killer, were related and affected our physical health, and being aware of mental health was good for concentration in our daily life. The minister also recalled mental issue faced by almost all the Cambodian people who went through the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime (1975-1979) and its consequences in their lives after the collapse of th e regime. H.E. Neth Pheaktra hoped that the participants would know how to make their mental health healthy, know themselves well, and know how to do meditation, which will contribute to healthy family and society with understanding, forgiveness, non-violence practice, and unity attitudes.
