The Ministry of Health and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have discussed more cooperation in the health sector. The discussion took place between H.E. Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, and H.E. Liu Hua, Deputy Director General of the IAEA, in a meeting in Phnom Penh on Mar. 20. H.E. Chheang Ra appreciated the IAEA for supporting Cambodia's national health sector, especially the fight against cancer. The minister requested the IAEA to consider assisting Cambodia in expanding her health infrastructure, human resources training, and equipment. He also highlighted Cambodia's need for a safety system and regulation for the storage of dangerous waste from both the public and private sectors. H.E. Liu Hua was committed to contributing to the ministry's efforts to achieve the establishment of the National Cancer Control Plan (NCCP) and the implementation of a health action plan.
