KUALA LUMPUR, The Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA), with support from the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (Kuskop), recently held the Malaysia Franchise Awards 2024 to recognise the achievements of local franchises. The franchise awards is a platform aimed at empowering the development and also recognising Malaysian franchise companies for their achievements and contributions to the industry. Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said the awards celebrate and recognise every achievement and innovation undertaken by franchise entrepreneurs to stimulate the economy. "I see this recognition not as an ending for entrepreneurs to be satisfied with their achievements and success. 'Saya melihat pengiktirafan ini bukanlah pengakhiran untuk para usahawan berpuas hati dengan kejayaan dan pencapaian mereka. "Instead, it is a new beginning to strive harder and bring the country's franchise products to a level equal to international brands and be able to com pete at the global level," he said at the recent Malaysia Franchise Awards 2024. MFA chairman Datuk Dr Radzali Hassan said awards programmes such as these are vital to the efforts to assist local franchise entrepreneurs in strengthening their businesses. "This will also encourage the export of more franchises overseas as well as welcoming foreign investors into the country in line with the government's aspiration to make Malaysia the Southeast Asia region's hub for franchises," he said. During the Malaysia Franchise Awards 2024, QC Group Sdn Bhd, which operates the HOME Maths Therapy brand, became the first bumiputera franchise to win both the Franchisee of the Year and Franchisor of the Year awards. Kopitiam Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd, which operates the Oldtown White Coffee brand, won the Best Franchise Employer award, while the Bright Hill Islamic Montessori School Sdn Bhd, with the Bright Hill brand, bagged the Best Franchise CSR award.
