MAIPS ALLOCATES RM7 MLN FOR SKILLS TRAINING OF ASNAF

KANGAR, The Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) allocated RM7 million to the Asnaf Transformation Academy (ATAM) for the implementation of a programme to train the poor and needy in management skills this year.

MAIPs chief executive officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor said to ensure that the programme offered can have an optimal impact, ATAM will implement a programme of self-identity to foster positive thinking during the selection phase of participants.

“The success and effectiveness of the programme is an important element that must be given attention by ATAM so that the purpose of its establishment will be achieved,” he said in a statement today.

The statement added that the Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail consented to participate in the symbolic handover of the donation to Mohd Nazim at the Aidilfitri luncheon at Istana Arau Banquet Hall yesterday.

Accompanying him was the Raja Perempuan of Perlis Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Almarhum Tengku Abdul Rashid.

ge which attended the occasion included Raja Muda Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and their children Sharifah Khatreena Nuraniah, Sharifah Farah Adriana and Syed Sirajuddin Areeb Putra Jamalullail.

The statement said MAIS set up ATAM with the aim of producing self-reliant workers through training and job placement programmes besides providing a guidance workshop for aspiring entrepreneurs in Perlis.

“Since being branded in 2017, various training programmes in the field of TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) and skills have been implemented by ATAM which has benefited more than 1,300 asnaf through training and job placement in various fields,” according to the statement.
