SUWON, Police on Tuesday apprehended a man suspected of posting an online message threatening to kill Rep. Ko Min-jung of the main opposition Democratic Party. The man, who is in his 20s, was apprehended at his residence in Seoul's Gwangjin Ward, a day after he allegedly posted the message in an online game chatroom, according to the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police. Ko is seeking parliamentary reelection in the same district. The suspect reportedly told police he wrote the message as a joke and had no intention to kill the lawmaker. Police had launched an investigation upon receiving a report on the threat and traced the writer by locating the IP address. Source: Yonhap News Agency
