Kolon Industries Inc. on Thursday reported its first-quarter net profit of 20.3 billion won (US$14.8 million), down 28.4 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that operating profit for the January-March period fell 17.6 percent on-year to 30.6 billion won. Revenue increased 0.2 percent to 1.16 trillion won. The earnings fell short of market expectations.
