KOTA BHARU, The Kelantan government conveyed its gratitude to the Federal Government for disbursing RM58.6 million in Wang Ihsan (goodwill grant) last week. Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud expressed hope that the disbursement of the grant would proceed according to scheduled payments, aligning with federal principles and ethos. He emphasised that the state government is always transparent in allocating funds for the welfare of the Kelantanese people. "The Wang Ihsan is allocated in the State Budget, and all receipts and expenditures in the State Budget are audited by the National Audit Department. "On this occasion, representing the state government leadership, I extend Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings and Maaf Zahir dan Batin from the Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) and the entire Malaysian populace," he said in a statement today. Yesterday, the Federal Government disbursed RM172.3 million in Wang Ihsan to the Terengganu government and RM58.6 million to Kelantan the previous w eek to fulfill the state governments' emolument commitments.
