Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's leading automaker, on Monday announced the release of a redesigned version of its Ioniq 5 electric vehicle. The revamped Ioniq 5 features an increased battery capacity, growing from 77.4 kWh to 84.0 kWh, which in turn increases its all-electric range. It can travel up to 485 kilometers via a single charge, compared with 458 kilometers for the previous iteration, the company said. Exterior enhancements include a refined V-shape garnish and restyled front and rear bumpers. Its rear spoiler has been extended, and the vehicle now boasts new aerodynamic wheels to enhance its dynamic appearance and allow better performance. The model also features a next-generation infotainment system, named the connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), and also allows over-the-air software updates to ensure that the vehicle's major electronic controls remain up to date.
