South Korea’s exports rose 21.6 percent on-year in the first 10 days of April, data showed Thursday.
Outbound shipments reached US$16.44 billion in the April 1-10 period, compared with $13.52 billion tallied a year earlier, according to the data from the Korea Customs Service.
Imports grew 5.8 percent on-year to $18.4 billion during the period, resulting in a trade deficit of $2 billion.
In March, exports advanced 3.1 percent on-year to $52.2 billion, the sixth consecutive monthly gain, on the back of strong demand for semiconductors.
