SK EandS Co., an energy unit of SK Group, said Sunday its U.S. affiliate will supply a big-scale electric vehicle (EV) charging facility to Major League Baseball (MLB) club San Francisco Giants this year. EverCharge Inc., a California-based charging solution provider acquired by SK EandS in March 2022, and the Giants signed a strategic partnership to install EV charging infrastructure in the Giants' home stadium, Oracle Park, according to the Korean company. Under the partnership, EverCharge plans to provide an EV charging facility that can charge hundreds of vehicles at Oracle Park and a total solution for maintenance and repair of the facility. Over half of newly registered vehicles in San Francisco are EV or hybrid models, according to SK EandS. The city's baseball team, the Giants, signed with the Korean baseball league's most valuable player for 2022, Lee Jung-hoo, in December last year. "EverCharge's charging solution has been designed to maximize utilization of charging infrastructure and enable efficient charging ... We hope to help provide dynamic and eco-friendly transport environment to Giants fans and the local community," John Lin, senior vice president of global sales at EverCharge, said.
