Emart24, a South Korean convenience store chain, said Thursday it has partnered with local cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb to sell the "bitcoin meal box" by the end of this month. Under a partnership with Bithumb, Emart24 plans to sell 30,000 such meal boxes at 5,900 won (US$4.3) per product by May 31, the company said in a statement. "Customers can receive 10,000 won worth of bitcoin if they enter the Bithumb app and input the number of a coupon in the meal box. An additional 20,000 won (worth of) bitcoin will be given if they generate a NH Nonghyup bank account for bitcoin transactions," a company spokesperson said over the phone. Those who already have a NH bank account are required to connect their accounts to the Bithumb exchange to get the additional bitcoin, she said.
