The Senate of Cambodia has decided to establish Parliamentary Friendship Groups with the parliaments of 11 friendly countries. The decision was highlighted in a press release of the Senate General Secretariat made public this afternoon, after a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee chaired by its President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen. The 11 countries include France, China, Trkiye, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Pakistan, and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. At the same time, a group of senators in charge of cooperation with five inter-parliamentary organisations, such as the French-speaking Parliamentary Assembly, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF), the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), and the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network (NAM-PN), was formed. Besides, the Senate decided to set up another group of senators to cooperate and participate with the National Assembly in the meetings of four inter- parliamentary organisations, including the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Parliamentary Summit, the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP), and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP).
