Cambodian National Assembly (NA) President has sent a condolence message to her Japanese counterpart, expressing her sadness over the tragic loss of life, widespread destruction to infrastructures and property and the displacement of families caused by the earthquake that struck the western part of Japan on Jan. 1. 'On behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to Your Excellency Speaker and, through you, to the government as well as the bereaved families for the loss of their love ones in this tragedy,' wrote on Jan. 3 the Cambodian NA President, Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary to H.E. NUKAGA Fukushiro, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan. 'May the souls of those who perished in this natural disaster rest in peace, and may the injured recover swiftly from their injuries. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan during this difficult time.
