The Royal Government of Cambodia has been hosting the 25th Meeting of ASEAN-COCI Sub-Committee on Information (ASEAN-COCI SCI) in Siem Reap province, discussing key issues for regional collaboration in the information sector. Held from May 28 to 30, the meeting sees representatives from member states and offers floor to distinguished individuals responsible for information in the region to show their shared commitment to fostering cooperation and enhancing information sharing across ASEAN. H.E. Has Sam Ath, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Information and SOMRI Cambodia, who presided over the regional meeting's official opening ceremony this morning, extended his warm welcome to all Heads of Delegation, ASEAN Secretariat, and all members of delegations from ASEAN Member States to Siem Reap, a city renowned for its rich cultural heritage and historical significance. The 25th Meeting of ASEAN-COCI SCI will delve into important discussions on key issues such as digital transformation, media develo pment, and information dissemination, he said. 'Sharing your valuable insights and perspectives are invaluable to our mission of strengthening the ASEAN information ecosystem,' H.E. Has Sam Ath underlined. The ASEAN Information Sector (ASEAN-SCI) meetings play a pivotal role in ensuring that member states are well-equipped to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape media and technology, he added. The ASEAN-SCI meetings are held annually with the main purpose of strengthening mutual understanding and trust between member countries through information and communication activities in the ASEAN region and jointly implementing ASEAN projects.
