Cambodia and U.S. Celebrate Advancements in Bilateral Relations

Phnom penh: Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and visiting U.S. Representative for Washington H.E. Adam Smith praised the progress in Cambodia-U.S. relations and cooperation during a courtesy meeting at the Peace Palace.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the two sides discussed strengthening collaboration in key areas such as the economy, investment, national defence, security, and education, while also exploring new opportunities for future cooperation. Congressman Adam Smith, accompanied by fellow U.S. Representatives Michael Baumgartner and Chrissy Houlahan, emphasized that their visit aims to further enhance bilateral ties. He acknowledged Cambodia's progress in economic development.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet updated the U.S. Congressional delegation on recent developments along the Cambodia-Thailand border, reaffirming Cambodia's commitment to resolving the issue peacefully following bilateral agreements, conventions, treaties, and international law. The Cambodian Premier also expressed his gratitude to U.S. President Donald J. Trump for facilitating a rapid ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, which he noted helped save many lives.
