KUALA LUMPUR, Allianz Malaysia Berhad (Allianz Malaysia), through its Corporate Social Responsibility branch Allianz4Good, is backing the Economic Empowerment Programme (EEP) at Sabah and Selangor Cheshire Homes. In a statement today, the company said the EEP aims to provide vocational training for trainees with disabilities (PwD), equipping them with skills to enhance their employability. 'Allianz Malaysia's support includes covering the costs of training, accommodation, transportation during practical sessions and job guidance for the programme at both organisations,' it said. At Sabah Cheshire Home, 15 trainees with disabilities will participate in a nine-month programme, which includes three months of industrial training and job guidance, culminating in a Certificate in Pastry Skills. The training will cover health and safety practices, pastry preparation and sales and marketing. Meanwhile, the EEP at Selangor Cheshire Home will involve 20 trainees with disabilities, who will participate in a four-m onth training programme, followed by an additional month of industrial training and job guidance. The programme will cover personal development, pastry making, cooking, packaging, hospitality and café operations. Allianz4Good head, Ng Siew Gek said that the support for the EEP at both Sabah and Selangor Cheshire Homes is designed to equip trainees with the skills necessary for employment and financial independence upon graduation. Selangor Cheshire Home president, Datin Paduka Khatijah Sulaiman welcomed the programme and the support from Allianz Malaysia. 'Allianz Malaysia's support empowers our young trainees with the necessary skills, providing them with a pathway to employment and financial independence,' she said. Sabah Cheshire Home president, Lawrence Hee Qui Shing expressed gratitude to Allianz Malaysia and hopes the initiative will inspire other companies to support programmes that help young people with disabilities develop their skills.
