SEOUL, Hyundai Motor Co., Tesla Korea and four other carmakers will recall nearly 55,000 vehicles due to faulty components, the transport ministry said Wednesday. The six companies, including Kia Corp., Ford Sales and Service Korea, GS Global Corp. and Bumhan Mobility, are voluntarily recalling a total of 54,792 units of 19 different models, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said in a statement. The problems that prompted the recall include rear camera software problems in Tesla's flagship SUV Model X, a faulty power transmission system in the rear wheels of Kia's all-electric EV6 model and a faulty power transmission system in the rear wheels of Hyundai's pure electric Ioniq 5 model, the statement said. Vehicle owners can check the government's homepage at www.car.go.kr or call 080-357-2500 to see if their vehicles are subject to the recall, the ministry said. Source: Yonhap News Agency
