President Yoon Suk Yeol nominated Seoul's tax chief for head of the National Tax Service, his office said Thursday. The nomination of Kang Min-soo, chief of the Seoul Regional Tax Office, for commissioner of the National Tax Service is subject to a parliamentary confirmation hearing, though Yoon can go ahead and appoint the nominee regardless of the results of the hearing. Yoon also tapped Heo Seok-gon, director of the Fire and Disaster Headquarters of Busan Metropolitan City, as fire commissioner of the National Fire Agency, and Chang Dong-eon, deputy administrator of the Korea Meteorological Administration, as head of the agency. Kim Jong-moon, the presidential secretary for national agenda, was named as the first deputy minister of the Office for Government Policy Coordination. Source: Yonhap News Agency
