KUALA LUMPUR, Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YaPEIM) intends to use the services of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Centre for Excellence to train its staff on writing for social media.

Its chief executive officer (CEO), Ameer Ali Vali Mohamed said his team views Bernama as a ‘teacher’ in the field of journalism and believes it is able guide his staff in spreading the functions and activities of the foundation.

‘There is an idiom from (the) cradle to (the) grave, (so) learning does not end because there are always new things and developments,’ he said when met after paying a courtesy call at Wisma Bernama today.

“We want to know the way to write for social media seeing that each of them (social media) has a different style of writing.”

Also present at the session were Bernama CEO Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, Bernama deputy editor-in-chief (News Service) Nasriah Darus and Bernama deputy editor-in-chief (Economic News Service) Azlina Aziz.

Regarding today’s visit, Ameer Ali said variou
s matters were discussed including strategic cooperation that could be done between YaPEIM and Bernama especially related to infaq.

“YaPEIM is an infaq institution under the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs). Today’s visit was to discuss what strategic cooperation Bernama and YaPEIM can do,’ he also said.

“It is hoped that this effort and collaboration will go well to benefit both parties.”
