A woman suffered from breathing difficulties in a fire at a hostel in Bandar Puchong Jaya, Selangor, this afternoon. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said a distress call was received at 2 pm, after which nine fire fighters from the Puchong fire and rescue station in one engine were dispatched to the scene. 'Upon arrival, the firemen found that the entire floor of the hostel had been completely burnt down, and a 36-year-old woman was suffering from breathing difficulties. 'The fire also caused five per cent damage to two vehicles, a Mercedes and a Toyota Prius, parked near the building,' he said in a statement today. Ahmad Mukhlis said the victim had been handed over to Health Ministry officials for further treatment, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. It is understood that the hostel was rented by nine men and five women, aged between 16 and 65. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
