MELAKA, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) has brought pride to the nation by winning the Energy Management Award for Buildings and Industry at the ASEAN Energy Awards (AEA) 2024 in Vientiane, Laos, today. UTeM Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Massila Kamalrudin expressed immense pride in UTeM being selected as Malaysia's representative at AEA 2024 and emerging as the award recipient. "AEA is organised by the ASEAN Centre for Energy in collaboration with ASEAN member countries. It is the highest recognition for institutions and organisations in driving sustainable energy management at the regional level. "This achievement positions UTeM as a leading university in sustainable energy management, not only within Malaysia but also recognised in Southeast Asia," she said in a statement today. Massila added that UTeM remains committed to innovating and becoming a regional leader in sustainable energy management. The university will continue to support future sustainable energy agendas in line with UTeM's 2023-2025 Strategic Pillars and the country's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
