PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Tourism is set to launch a dedicated tourism platform for international visitors during Cambodia's Water Festival, scheduled from November 14 to 16. This initiative was confirmed by the Ministry of Tourism in an announcement received by AKP this afternoon. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the tourism platform will be strategically positioned to the north of the main honor platform, directly in front of the Royal Palace. This will allow international tourists to fully immerse themselves in the festival's vibrant activities, including boat races, a lantern-floating ceremony, and a moon-worship ceremony over the course of the three-day celebration. In addition to cultural experiences, the platform will offer hospitality services such as tourist guide assistance. Large screens will be set up to provide information on Cambodia's diverse tourist attractions, enhancing the overall visitor experience. Cambodia's Prime Minister, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, highlighted du ring a cabinet plenary meeting on September 27 at the Peace Palace that the Water Festival 2024 aims to be bigger and more festive than previous years. This effort is part of a broader strategy to boost the influx of both national and international tourists. The Water Festival is one of Cambodia's most significant celebrations, marking the end of the monsoon season. It serves as a time to express gratitude to nature, particularly water, for bountiful harvests, while also celebrating the nation's rich cultural heritage and long-standing history.
