KUCHING, Young national bowler Wan Muhammad Zarif Ikram Wan Mazlan from Terengganu created a stir at the 2024 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) Sarawak, clinching the gold medal in the men's singles bowling event at Megalanes Emart, Batu Kawa here today. The 17-year-old displayed remarkable consistency across six games, posting scores of 214, 213, 257, 201, 278 and 212, amassing a total of 1,375 pinfalls. Shaqeem Izwan Teh Shahrul Hafiz Teh from the Federal Territories, meanwhile, secured the silver with 1,361 pinfalls, while Sabah's Emmanuel Fo claimed the bronze after downing 1,342 pins. In the women's singles, Sarawak's Nur Hazirah Ramli, 21, dominated the competition with 1,261 pinfalls, taking home the gold. Selangor's Adania Mohd Redzwan and Federal Territories' Haiffa Hazlan bagged silver and bronze with 1,254 and 1,239 pinfalls, respectively.
