IPOH, The Perak Entrepreneur Development Secretariat (STeP) together with 40 state agencies have helped a total of 114,000 entrepreneurs through 414 entrepreneurship programmes with an allocation of RM348 million.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said programmes such as Go Cashless n E-Commerce, one-off assistance, moratorium, Geran Khas Prihatin and microcredit scheme have helped entrepreneurs build and expand their businesses, especially after the pandemic.
"The Perak Entrepreneurs' Grant (GeRUP) is also one of the initiatives that provide abundant benefits to entrepreneurs.
"I was informed that to date, almost 900 applications from entrepreneurs have been approved. The 2023 Entrepreneurs and Cooperatives Open Day Tour Programme which has toured 11 districts has benefitted more than 200,000 entrepreneurs," he said in his speech at the 2022 Perak Entrepreneur Awards here last night.
Meanwhile, Saarani said through the 2024 Perak Budget, he has announced that the entrepreneur programmes will continue to be empowered and STeP will receive an allocation of RM1.3 million.
