Sihanoukville: Air Cambodia, the national flag carrier, successfully launched direct flights from Sihanoukville, Cambodia, to Shenzhen, China on September 25. The inaugural flights were nearly full in both directions, indicating a strengthening of ties between the two major commercial centres of Cambodia and China, as underlined by Air Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this is the only direct flight between the two cities, addressing a market gap. It adds another important route to Shenzhen, following the previously established Phnom Penh-Shenzhen and Siem Reap-Shenzhen routes.
As the flag carrier of Cambodia, Air Cambodia is fully committed to the "2025 Cambodia-China Tourism Year" initiative agreed upon by both governments. The airline is actively expanding new destinations to meet the growing business and travel demands of the peoples of the two countries.
Additionally, on October 26 this year, Air Cambodia plans to inaugurate the Phnom Penh-Fuzhou-Tokyo route. This new route will directly connect Fuzhou, an important economic centre in China, with the capitals of Cambodia and Japan. Passengers will have the option to book flights from Tokyo to Phnom Penh, as well as flights from Fuzhou to Tokyo and from Fuzhou to Phnom Penh.
