KOTA KINABALU, The Sabah International Blue Economy Conference (SIBEC) 2024, scheduled for Sept 2 to 4, has been postponed to Oct 19 to 20. The Sabah Maju Jaya secretariat issued a statement about the postponement today, adding that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to officiate the conference on Oct 19. SIBEC 2024 will contain activities such as investor insight sessions, a plenary session and an interactive forum, along with special ambassador talks featuring foreign ambassadors and high commissioners to share their experience, knowledge and successes linked to blue economy in their respective countries. A total of 29 local and foreign speakers and forum panellists, including industry players, blue economy practitioners and academicians will be involved in SIBEC 2024, which has an expected 2,000 participants. SIBEC 2024 will also have a pavilion showcasing initiatives, the latest in technology and innovation of every sector or component of blue economy.
