SHARIPUDDIN’S UNFULFILLED BIRTHDAY SURPRISE WISH

The late Sharipuddin Shaari's wish to surprise his youngest child on her birthday remained unfulfilled as the e-hailing driver tragically lost his life in the plane crash near Bandar Elmina in Shah Alam, Selangor last Thursday.

Sharing her disappointment, Suriana Muda, 43, the widow of the late Sharipuddin, expressed that they had planned to celebrate their youngest child Nur Izzara Arissya's birthday on Aug 27.

“My late huasband had bought a gift for our youngest child, who was close to him. After his passing, there is no chance to celebrate the event he (Sharipuddin) had planned.

"We used to celebrate both our children's birthdays every year. Unfortunately, we couldn't do it this year because of his passing," she said emotionally to reporters after her husband's burial at the Majid Jamek Sultan Hisamuddin cemetery in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, here today.

Besides Nur Izzara Arissya, the couple also has a 16-year-old son named Muhammad Sharul Sharipuddin.

Recalling her last moments with her late husband, the housewife said that he had been affectionate and reluctant to be apart lately.

"I didn't expect him to leave so suddenly. This has deeply affected me..I don't want to think about anything right now," she added.

Sharipuddin was among the two civilians, the other was a p-hailing rider, who were passing through the scene. The crash of the light aircraft also resulted in the loss of all six passengers and both crew members.

The aircraft with registration number N28JV, operated by Jetvalet Sdn Bhd, crashed while en route to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang, after taking off from Langkawi International Airport at 2.08 pm.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Sharul said that his father's final message on Thursday morning before he headed to school still lingers in his memory. He didn't expect it would be the last time he heard his father's voice and saw him.

The Form Four student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi added that his father's advice was: "Abang, go to school safely...study diligently" .

"I will remember my father's advice forever. I will also work hard to fulfil his dream of me becoming a police officer," he said, adding that the motorcycle given by his father has become the most precious possession and will be taken care of as best as possible.

Tuan Ali Tuan Dahalan, 57, the late Sharipuddin’s brother-in-law, described the latter as a friendly and easily approachable individual.

Earlier, Sharipuddin's remains were brought for funeral prayers at the Al Rahimiah Jamek Mosque in Klang before being transported to Sultan Hisamuddin Jamek Mosque.

The mournful atmosphere was accompanied by light rain and cloudy weather as mosque Assistant Imam Ustaz Saudi Jusoh recited the talkin after the burial.
