KUALA LUMPUR, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has requested Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) to contact the original singer of 'Marilah Mengundi,' Rocky Din, who has expressed his intention to re-record the song. 'Marilah Mengundi' with its iconic lyrics encouraging citizens to vote: "Marilah mari... Pergi mengundi... Jangan lupa kewajipan pada negara" (Come, let's go vote… Don't forget your duty to the country), is often played during elections. "Recently, while in Penang, I had the chance to meet the original singer Rocky Din, who is now 75 years old. "'Marilah Mengundi' began hitting the airwaves in 1978 and since then, the song is played every General Election," he said in a Facebook post today. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
