Sihanoukville: The Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) continues to place high priority on the social welfare of workers, reaffirmed Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet during a Labour Day celebration at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port this morning.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the annual gathering with civil servants, workers, and employees at the port-held on the occasion of the 139th anniversary of International Labour Day (May 1)-has become a longstanding tradition since the tenure of Former Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
Held this year under the theme "Together for Decent Work and Sustainable and Resilient Growth," the event provided a platform for the Prime Minister to reiterate the government's strong commitment to maintaining stability and improving the social welfare of Cambodian workers.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei expressed disappointment over efforts by some opposition figures abroad who, he said, have tried to ask the international community to impose sanctions on Cambodia.
"I am truly disappointed that a small group of extremist opposition members abroad continue to obstruct progress and call on the international community, including the EU, to sanction Cambodia-at a time when the RGC is actively working to resolve reciprocal tariff issues with the United States for the benefit of our people," he stated.
The Premier emphasized that the RGC remains focused on ensuring the well-being of workers and attracting foreign investment to create more job opportunities. The RGC, he added, is committed to engaging with the international community to foster trade, investment, and broader economic cooperation.
