Renault Korea Motors Co., the South Korean unit of Renault S.A., said Monday its August sales inched up 0.4 percent from a year earlier thanks to overseas shipments. Renault Korea sold 8,451 vehicles last month, up from 8,414 units a year earlier, the company said in a statement. Exports rose 2.7 percent to 7,101 units from 6,912 units a year earlier. Domestic sales, however, fell 10.1 percent to 1,350 units. Renault Korea said it exported 6,130 Arkana models and 971 QM6 models overseas last month. The company is preparing to soon roll out the Grand Koleos, Renault Korea's new hybrid SUV, the company's first new model in four years, as it aims to overcome its prolonged sales slump in South Korea.
