KUALA LUMPUR, As the official partner of the 2024 Para Malaysia Games (Para SUKMA), Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus) will deliver 25 buses for the use of athletes and officials during the sporting event in Kuching, Sarawak. In a statement, Rapid Bus said the single-deck buses will be shipped by sea, departing from Pulau Indah's Awal Idaman jetty in Port Klang on Sept 6 and are expected to arrive in Kuching on Sept 13. 'The buses feature universal access, making them convenient for persons with disabilities (PwD), including spacious areas to facilitate the Para SUKMA athletes who use wheelchairs,' it said, adding that the bus can accommodate many passengers. Rapid Bus chief operating officer Ku Jamil Zakaria said in the statement that the collaboration with the Sarawak state government shows its commitment to appreciating the contribution of the PwD community to national development, including sports. A total of 44 Rapid Bus staff, comprising 30 bus captains and 14 support personnel, will arrive in Kuching o n Sept 13 and 15, according to the statement, adding that the bus captains will receive training on the routes.
