Cambodia's Preah Sihanouk provincial administration and Vietnam's Kien Giang provincial people's committee have signed a cooperative agreement for the search, excavation, and collection of missing remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers. The agreement was signed on Sept. 16 between Preah Sihanouk Deputy Provincial Governor H.E. Samuth Sothearith and the Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee H.E. Nguyen Luu Trung in Preah Sihanouk province. According to H.E. Samuth Sothearith, the search, excavation, and collection of missing remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who lost their lives during the war in Cambodia is the XXIV dry season operation 2024-2025. The provincial-level cooperation is guided by the broader agreement between the governments of Cambodia and Vietnam inked on Aug. 28, 2000. H.E.
