General election races are too close to call in 55 districts and 26 of them are in the Seoul metropolitan area, the leader of the ruling People Power Party (PPP) said Wednesday. PPP leader Han Dong-hoon made the remark during a visit to the central city of Chungju, citing the party's assessment of the situation a week before the April 10 elections, where 254 directly contested National Assembly seats are up for grabs as well as 46 proportional representation seats. It was the first time he has publicly mentioned the party's election forecast. "The current situation is like walking on a thin sheet of ice," Han said. The PPP has been conducting its own analysis of election prospects based on public opinion polls and other data gathered by the party's think tank, The Yeouido Institute. Source: Yonhap News Agency
