Prime Minister Han Duck-soo visited a military hospital Sunday to check its operations after it began accepting civilian patients amid a nationwide walkout by trainee doctors, his office said. Han visited the Armed Forces Capital Hospital in Seongnam, just south of Seoul, and thanked the medical personnel there for helping ease the burden caused by trainee doctors protesting the government's plan to increase admissions to medical schools. During the visit, Han also consoled the family of a patient who was forced to undergo emergency surgery there due to disruptions at a major general hospital, according to his office.
