Phnom Penh: The Cambodian Prime Minister appreciates the steadfast service and dedication of the Cambodian national police, encouraging them to sustain their exemplary performance, particularly in addressing emerging issues stemming from global challenges and uncertainties.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet extended his gratitude to all police officials, the Ministry of Interior leadership, and retired officers in an open letter marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Cambodia National Police.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the sacrifices and relentless efforts of the police force in safeguarding peace, independence, national sovereignty, territorial integrity, political stability, security, public order, and social safety.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the families of police officers-both close and extended relatives-who provide unwavering support and encouragement, enabling their loved ones to serve the nati
on with dedication.
Reflecting on the resilience of Cambodia’s law enforcement, he recalled the many challenges the force has endured, including social transformations, complexities, and hardships, particularly the devastation suffered during the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime.
Looking ahead to 2025, the Prime Minister acknowledged the increasing complexities and uncertainties of the global landscape, which may impact Cambodia’s political stability, security, public order, and social safety.
He called on the national police to remain vigilant and prepared to tackle emerging threats, including transnational, cyber, and organised crime, and pledged his full backing-both mentally and physically-to ensure the national police continue executing their duties with professionalism, efficiency, and integrity.
The Cambodia National Police was established on May 16, 1945, under the visionary leadership of Cambodia’s late King-Father Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk.
