PM Appreciates the Progress of Garment and Textile Factories

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has expressed his appreciation for the progress of the garment and textile factories in terms of work environment, wages, transport, food hall, and so on.

Addressing to a get-together with nearly 20,000 workers and employees from six factories and enterprises, held at Lecrown Shoes Industry Factory in Cheung Prey district, Kampong Cham province this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said as the work environment and other issues had been improved, the number of workers who fainted at work had dropped dramatically.

“We have worked hard to build factories across the country and the situation is getting better, and we will continue for more progress and prosperity of our people,” he underlined.

Currently, Cambodia has in total 17,000 factories and enterprises with 1.5 million workers and employees. Of the number, 1,326 are garment and textile factories employing more than 840,000 workers.
