PERNAS, Focus Point Donate Spectacles To 300 Students In Sungai Buloh

KUALA LUMPUR, Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PERNAS) and Focus Point Vision Care Group Sdn Bhd (Focus Point) today donated spectacles to 300 students from three schools in Sungai Buloh. Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk R. Ramanan, who is also the Sungai Buloh MP, said the students are from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Rahman Putra, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (T) Bukit Darah and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Subang. He said this was part of the corporate social responsibility initiative implemented by PERNAS, an agency under the ministry, and Focus Point to help needy students, especially from the B40 group. "Focus Point also conducted eye examinations for 855 students (from the three schools). "I'm grateful to Focus Point for conducting this eye care activity for students. It is important to start eye care from a young age,' he said at a ceremony to hand over the spectacles. Ramanan said he is determined to make Sungai Buloh the healthiest parliamentary constituency in the countr y. Among the initiatives he has undertaken towards this objective was providing free health check-ups in all Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) in the area. Ramanan said he would bring doctors to all PPR in Sungai Buloh to conduct free health examinations for residents.
